The indie-pop famous person who had Skinny Lizzy, Dire Straits and, umm, Christopher Biggins go to his household house when he was a child.

For many singers in bands, their goals are cast staring on the posters on their partitions and by the music blaring out of their audio system. However not for The 1975’s chief Matty Healy. Nope, the charismatic and controversial Matty had an upbringing that was not like yours or mine, except yours contains having a father or mother who starred in one of many greatest TV hits of the 80s and juggled having his rock star buddies over with the tradie mates he’d made within the pub. Chatting with this author again in 2014 about his well-known dad and mom (his dad is actor Tim Healy and his mom is Unfastened Ladies and Coronation Road star Denise Welch), Healy regarded again on his childhood house with a bit of incredulity.

“I grew up round rock stars,” he recalled. “Within the 80s, when my dad was in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, it was like a political figurehead for a motion in Thatcher Britain, the entire going abroad to get work. At the moment my dad was a political presence and he was cool and he was from the north-east and his mates have been Mark Knopfler and Skinny Lizzy, I used to be a child they usually have been my dad’s mates.”
