It’s properly documented that Sharon Osbourne (spouse and supervisor of Ozzy Osbourne) and Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson have been embroiled in a feud for years.
It reportedly started throughout Ozzfest 2005, when Dickinson made some feedback that Sharon didn’t like. As revenge, she had the P.A. turned off throughout Iron Maiden’s set in San Bernardino, CA, and even recruited folks to throw objects at Dickinson throughout their set.
Now, whereas talking to Steel Hammer, Sharon mirrored on the feud, saying that whereas she doesn’t have something towards Iron Maiden, Dickinson’s alleged feedback didn’t sit proper together with her.
“I like Iron Maiden, it’s simply the singer as a result of he was so horribly disrespectful. However in case you’re going to take Ozzy’s cash, and play earlier than him each evening of a pageant, and also you’re bad-mouthing him to the gang, you’ve bought to pay. So I had him pelted with cans of baked beans that have been open, and lower his sound,” she stated.
Sharon then recalled Ozzy’s response after he came upon about her plan.
“Ozzy solely has respect for the blokes in Maiden. And he didn’t even know what Bruce was doing. I by no means instructed him, till the evening that it occurred, when it was the final present, and he simply checked out me and goes, ‘You’re horrible.’”
Because it seems, Sharon and Dickinson’s feud had a little bit of collateral harm. In an interview final 12 months with Steel Hammer, guitarist and vocalist Matt Heafy of Trivium revealed that after his band declined to throw eggs at Dickinson and as a substitute carried out their set sporting Iron Maiden t-shirts, the pageant’s crew started treating them in a different way.
“We bought bullied by the Ozzfest crew,” Heafy stated. “They’d drive their golf carts proper as much as our faces, shoot dust at us. Paolo [Gregoletto, bassist] virtually bought arrested at one of many reveals. It was an odd time; we paid $30,000 to get bullied like we have been in highschool!”
