Queen have introduced that they are releasing their fabled De Lane Lea demos as a standalone vinyl version for Document Retailer Day, which is scheduled for April 12.
The demos, which have been recorded on the studios in North London in late 1971 and early 1972 earlier than Queen signed with EMI, have been initially made out there as a CD included in final yr’s Queen I field set.
“The demos we made at De Lane Lea Studios have been nearer to what we dreamed of than our later periods,” says guitarist Brian Might. “Good open drum sounds and atmosphere on the guitar. That was far more the way in which we wished it to go.”
The songs recorded at De Lane Lea have been rerecorded when Queen relocated to Trident Studios in Soho to work on their debut album in April 1972 , however the band have been by no means totally pleased with the outcomes.
“At De Lane Lea, we’d simply flip up and do what we will – and rapidly,” stated Taylor, in a current episode of their ongoing video collection Queen The Biggest. “At Trident, it did really feel like, ‘OK, now we’re in it’, however I didn’t actually get on with their concepts. They’d a drum sales space and it was a widely known sound: very dry and lifeless, which isn’t what I wished.”
The De Lane Lea demos have been remixed for the Queen I field set utilizing the unique multitrack tapes.
