JAMMA belied her LA residency and poured classic jazz blues by means of a southern gothic lens in her debut single, FAREWELL, a monitor that dismantles nostalgia and rebuilds it in a darker, rawer type. The freeform fluidity of jazz collides with echoes of gospel that hang-out by means of the organs, whereas raucous jolts of electrical energy fizz as her old-time chanteuse vocals command the infernal carnival of instrumentals. FAREWELL doesn’t simply ship a farewell, it resurrects the load of parting, infusing it with a hell-hath-no-fury spirit, as if a classic blues siren tore herself unfastened and began preaching on unhallowed floor.
Born Marianna Vitale in Naples in 1999, JAMMA’s musical roots run deep. From her grandparents’ people and blues information to her early coaching on classical guitar, music grew to become each inheritance and rebel. After finding out arts enterprise in Milan and shifting to Los Angeles to immerse herself within the metropolis’s blues, funk, and jazz scenes, she honed her sound into one which thrives on duality: sensual but unflinching, romantic but punk, trendy but decadent. The passing of her mom ignited a sharper readability in her inventive mission, propelling her in direction of this primary official launch. FAREWELL is just not merely a curtain name; it’s a starting, marking the beginning of her three-track EP Presents, which can grapple with the everlasting trinity of life, love, and demise.
