Full EP Stream: Snøgg – ‘Huda Luknja’

-

Decibel final checked in with Slovenian black metallic duo Snøgg (and their myriad collaborators) in June 2019, after we premiered the band’s Chhinnamasta album. They’ve been busy in that point, releasing one other three albums and now Huda Luknja, their new EP, which is formally out later this week. Like Snøgg’s earlier work, lyrically they delve into a mixture of mystical and real-life occasions.

“After Dan, ko je vrag vzel šalo, Snøgg proceed their storytelling with a brand new album that accommodates two mythic tales,” vocalist Ulv tells Decibel. “This time we’re targeted on a slim canyon close to our hometown, full with pure caves and navy bunkers referred to as ‘Huda Luknja.’ ‘Huda’ is a narrative of a ghost of a younger girl that haunts the canyon, bewitching the passing drivers and main them into despair. ‘Luknja’ talks a few healer and a poet Valentin Eremit who really lived there as a hermit and tells his unhappy life story (primarily based on true occasions).”

Stylistically, Huda Luknja continues the band’s self-described model of “freeride black metallic,” which is greatest described as a wide range of post-black metallic that pulls influences from throughout the black metallic spectrum. Huda Luknja is riff-heavy, meditative, atmospheric and even symphonic by means of its 18-minute runtime.

Huda Luknja is out on November 29 through Kvlt and Kaos however you may stream it now.
