Finnish folks steel icons ENSIFERUM as we speak unveil their official new video for “The Howl.” The observe is taken from the band’s Winter Storm full-length, out now on Steel Blade Data.

A lot of the brand new materials for Winter Storm emerged throughout the COVID lockdown, when ENSIFERUM‘s founding guitarist Markus Toivonen set himself the problem of discovering new methods to make music – finally composing each track besides the rousing and anthemic “Fatherland,” written by bassist Sami Hinkka. The addition of singer/organist Pekka Montin’s crystal-clear melodic excessive notes offered an incredible increase on 2020′s Thalassic. However on Winter Storm – a fantasy idea narrative penned by Hinkka – Montin’s super-strong voice finds its optimum place in ENSIFERUM‘s sound. Bringing to life such grandiose, heroic materials, the singer emerges as one of many biggest vocal discoveries of the last decade.

The Howl” follows the band’s “Fatherland” video which instructed of a distant tribe who had been combating towards the Winter Storm Vigilantes.

In ‘The Howl,’” Hinkka elaborates, “we leap forward a few years from the battle of ‘Fatherland.’ The younger boy grew up and have become a shaman. His persons are shedding the conflict and as his final deed he calls the Previous Spirits one final time. He sacrifices his mortal kind and turns into a spirit wolf and begins his journey to seek out The One to avenge for his folks’s destiny. This track may be very ENSIFERUM-ish to the core: catchy melodies, highly effective harsh vocals and singalong refrain. We’ve already performed it on a couple of gigs; it’s clearly an incredible dwell track!
