Ruby Francis is a London-based artist, DJ, and producer who attracts inspiration from the timeless sound of neo-soul, r&b, and jazz music from the late 90s and early 2000s. Immersed in a vibrant musical upbringing, Ruby drew early inspiration from icons like Stevie Marvel, Björk, Chaka Khan, and The Neptunes. She started taking part in piano at age 10 and was producing music by her early teenagers, rapidly forging a daring, genre-defying sound.

A singer with a particular voice, Ruby manages to bottle the essence of chill, whereas leaving sufficient room for her self-produced instrumental to really shine. A music that does not essentially concentrate on lyrics, her new single “Helicopter” explores themes of intimacy and appreciation.

Ruby shares, “On the time, I had met somebody and fallen deeply in love. I used to be listening to quite a lot of wavy lofi productions from artists and inspirations like Georgia Anne Muldrow, Mndsgn, and Keifer on the time which closely influenced the general sound and bounciness.”

Listening to “Helicopter” makes me really feel mild, and whereas non permanent, that feeling of affection she’s speaking about may be felt deeply ingrained within the composition, making it an eternal reminiscence. It feels distinctive as a result of it captures a sense in a particular second, and it isn’t a music that she considered and re-modeled many occasions. She elaborates, “I blinked and there was a completed music.
